Religous Ed., Faith Formation and Catechetics
Dear Parishioners and School Families: I am honored to serve you as not only the Principal of St. Edward-on-the-Lake Catholic Elementary School, but also as the Parish Director of Religious Education/Faith Formation and Catechetics for Pre-School through eighth grade. Families, please feel free to stop into the school office to register your children for catechism. Catechism classes take place on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 9:25 a.m., with five minutes to spare before 9:30 a.m. Mass. Even if you have never enrolled your child in catechism before, it is never too late! Faith formation should be an ongoing and life long process, it shouldn't stop after Confirmation and/or never begin because you think you are "too old". We have a fabulous RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), taught by our Pastor Father Joe Esper. It is designed for adults who may never have been Baptized, made their First Holy Communion, Confession or Confirmation and who are interested in becoming Catholic. Some adults even enjoy taking RCIA classes as refresher classes if they are already members of the Catholic Church and have received each Sacrament. Don't be shy! Please call me if you are considering registering your child/children or yourself for Faith Formation/Catechetical Classes or if you simply want more information before you make any decisions. (810) 385-4461 @ School. I cannot describe here in words how much your life will change if you give Catholicism and Faith Formation a try. For those parents already sending your child/children to catechism classes, I look forward to working for you, and being able to be a part of such a profound part of your child/children's life throughout their religious Education Classes at St. Edward-on-the-Lake.
Sincerely, Rachael Becker, M.Ed.
